FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the weekly league schedule?
- Each player is assigned to a team which will practice one night per week and play one game per week on Saturdays. Each practice and each game is approximately one hour in length. Your practice day and time should not change unless unforeseen circumstances arise, in which case either we or our coaches will contact you ahead of time. The weekly game schedule will vary slightly based on the number of teams in your age division.
What night will my child have practice?
- Your child will be assigned to a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday night practice based on your child's registration. Please keep in mind that we are dependent on volunteer coaches, so we will do our best to work with the coaches' availability when scheduling weeknights first. We typically try our best to follow this schedule:
- Tiny Slammers (5-6 year olds) practice at 6:00pm or 6:15pm
- Mini Slammers (7-8 year olds) practice at 6:00pm or 6:15pm
- Little Slammers (9-10 year olds) usually practice at 6pm, 6:15pm, 7pm or 7:15pm depending on how many teams we have.
- Slammers (11-12 year olds) practice at 7:00pm or 7:15pm
- Super Slammers (13-14 year olds) usually practice at 7pm or 7:15pm.
- Grand Slammers (15-17 year olds) typically practice at 7:00pm or 8:15pm.
What if my child has a limitation on what night they can practice?
- Please communicate any and all potential conflicts with practice nights upon registration AND at the check-in table during Player Evaluations. We will do our very best to ensure that your team will practice on a night that they can attend throughout the course of the season. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate last minute requests so please be sure to tell us in advance of weeknight conflicts.
I would like to volunteer some time to help, who should I contact?
- We are always looking for volunteers. Please contact B.J. Ivey at 941-224-9378 for more information.
My son or daughter has just had a birthday, but I'm not sure they are ready to move up in to a different age division. Can my child play in a lower age division until they have the skills to move up?
- Absolutely, yes. Please contact B.J. Ivey to discuss at 941-224-9378.
